Final Thoughts...

Well, I pray that your relationship with God and
your evangelistic zeal has been ignited again
through prayer!

We've heard nothing but good news the entire month
about how brothers and sisters have been in on
new studies for the 1st time, people have become
Christians, Women's Night attendances at all-time
highs, and new relationships have been forged in
the fellowship.

But I wanted to leave you with some final thoughts...

Actually, they're not mine - they're Alex Hernandez's.

He's our Teen Ministry leader here in Hampton Roads
and he preached an excellent lesson yesterday at
church that I thought was a great way to finish
the campaign.

Here's goes...enjoy!

Like killing a lion in a pit on a snowy day...

Here's two brothers who tag teamed on a bible study. For one, it was the very first study he had ever sat in on.

This is what it's all about...people studying the bible for the 1st time & Christians learning to study the bible with others!

(please excuse my coughing & sneezing on the recording -- I'm trying to shake a cold!)

Be Strong And Courageous!

The Lord told Joshua to "be strong and courageous" when he began to lead the Israelites.

We've all got some level of fear to overcome as we rely on God to help us study the bible with as many people as possible this month. If we fear, let's all draw strength from God's words to Joshua.

Are you being strong and courageous this month? Listen to how this 6 month old Christian overcame her fear and sat in on her 1st bible study!

When I consider you heavens...

...the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? (Ps 8:3)

If you need some help praising God and getting a grasp of how much bigger and more powerful than we are, then watch this video and consider that the Lord MADE ALL OF THIS!

(now...what were those problems again?)

More rejoicing in heaven!

Clinton & Keana (hope I spelled that right) Harrison were baptized tonight here in Hampton Roads!

The battery on my camcorder died right before Clinton got baptized, so I missed his :-(. But I was able to record Keana's on my cell phone. Sorry about the poor quality, but rejoice over new additions to God's Kingdom!

Prayer & fasting really ARE good things!

Prayerfully after 3 days of fasting and prayer through the night, our hearts are sufficiently humble and we're ready to get about God's work!

We've gotten nothing but encouraging news from those who joined in.

Listen as Renae Blum in Hampton Roads shares her experience...

Monique London (also in Hampton Roads) had this to share...

How did YOUR time of prayer and fasting go? Leave a comment and let us know!

What's it really mean to fast?

As we begin our 3 day fast to prepare our hearts for the campaign, you may wonder what fasting is and why we do it.

A Hampton Roads campus student (Daniel Walker) sent me this short book to read, and it does a great job of giving a biblical basis of what fasting is (and what it ISN'T).

I encourage you to read it and consider the scriptures as we fast for the next 3 days...(did I mention the book is SHORT??)

Click on the book or click right here to get it.

If you'd like to add any of your comments on the book or the fast, feel free to click "Comments" and type away!

Review of "Too Busy Not To Pray"...

"Prayer is an unnatural activity."

That's how Bill Hybels begins the book we're reading for our March Campaign: Pray For Workers.

After reading this book for the 3rd time now, I love the simple ideas and scriptures used to call us to a deeper walk w/ God through prayer. It called me back to basics and reminded me that what's easy to do, is also easy NOT to do.

The book is a quick read and can be finished in a few hours, so if you fall behind in the reading you can catch up fairly quickly!

It's broken into 4 parts that can be summed up in just a few words:

1. The importance of prayer
2. How to pray
3. Why doesn't God answer my prayers? (I was convicted the most by this part!)
4. Listening to God

You'll enjoy how practical it is and we'll have fun reading it together throughout the month of March!

Grab your copy from your church's book and tape table, or just click here to get it anywhere from $3-$11 + shipping & handling from Amazon.com.

Intro Video "Blooper Reel"

Ok...this has absolutely no spiritual value but you'd be amazed at how hard it is to make one of these little, 2 min videos come out right!
